About the Program (GPSTR)
Karnataka Graduate Primary School Teacher (GPSTR) recruitment for Government Primary Schools (Classes 6–8) is conducted by the School Education Department, Government of Karnataka. Candidates must have a Graduate Degree with at least 50% marks along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or a Graduate Degree with at least 50% marks along with a B.Ed./B.Ed. in Special Education. Candidates with PUC and at least 50% marks with a 4-year B.El.Ed./B.Ed. are also eligible. For SC/ST, Category-I OBC and candidates with disabilities, the minimum marks requirement is 45%. Candidates must also qualify in the Karnataka Government or Government of India Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). For Graduate Primary Teacher (Language), candidates must have studied the concerned language along with English as an optional subject for three years in their Graduate Degree.
About the Program (HSTR)
Karnataka High School Teacher (HSTR) Language Assistant recruitment in English is conducted by the School Education Department, Government of Karnataka. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with English as one of the optional subjects and must also hold a Degree in Education (B.Ed.). Candidates who have not studied English as an optional subject at the degree level may also be eligible if they hold a Post-Graduate Degree in English and a Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with English as the concerned subject or as the teaching method.
