India Writes Back Lecture Series: Is There Poetry After Babel? by S Chandramohan (Indian English Dalit Poet)
Chandramohan S is a renowned Dalit poet, short story writer and social critic from Kerala. His poetry collections Warscape Verses (2014) and Letters to Namdeo Dhasal (2016), were shortlisted for the Srinivas Rayaprol Poetry Prize and the Harish Govind Memorial Prize. Chandramohan coordinates English-language poetry readings and a subaltern cultural collective in Kerala. He was the Outlook Magazine Dalit Achiever of the Year in 2016.

India Writes Back Lecture Series: “The Yellow Sparrow: Memoir of a Transgender”, Talk by Santa Khurai, eminent writer and Queer Activist.
Santa Khurai is a Gender-rights activist, writer, and artist from Manipur, India. Writing poems and stories on queer issues is one of her many passions. In her book The Yellow Sparrow: Memoir of a Transgender, she documents her troubles and recounts the story of her life - an inspiring saga of how the indomitable human spirit can overcome seemingly impossible odds.

Ajithkumar B. is one of the leading editors in Malayalam film industry. He has worked with masters like Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Rajeev Ravi and Jairaj. He has been decorated with national and State awards for editing for various films. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Ajithkumar has created a distinct space for his body of work. His directorial debut ‘Eada’ (Here) was also noticed for its depiction of human relations set against political realities of northern Kerala.

Cultural Studies Research Forum [CSRF] is non-profit initiative started by VALLATH in 2021. It aims to promote free public lectures & discussions in various aspects of research. It is to increase the awareness of students in cultural studies. CSRF is the happening place to gather and experience a rich diversity such as new literature, multidisciplinary studies, latest theoretical terminology, poetry, dance, food, music etc. Here our invited respected resource person talks on their topics and also we offer a space for interactions with participants at the end of the talk.

Daminee Basu is a trained singer and actor. She has been doing theatre for the last 35 years and worked with leading theatre personalities. In films, she has worked with stalwarts like Rituparno Ghosh, Vishal Bhardwaj, Kaushik Ganguly, Shoojit Sircar and Srijit Mukherji, to name a few. She is also an acting coach, accredited by the International Coaching Federation and a guest faculty for IIM - Calcutta and the National School of Drama.

Let’s Talk Film- Talk 09: “Tales from the Fringes”
Vidhu Vincent is an Indian film director, writer, journalist and theatre activist from Kerala. She made her feature film debut with the Malayalam film Manhole, which won the Award for Best Director at the 47th Kerala State Film Awards, the first woman to win a State Award in the category. The film was also featured in the “International competition” section of the 21st International Film Festival of Kerala, making Vidhu Vincent the first woman from Kerala to have a film screened in the history of the festival. At the festival, the film won two awards – the FIPRESCI Award for Best Malayalam Film and the “Silver Crow Pheasant Award” (Best Debutant Director). It also won the John Abraham award (special mention), instituted by the Kerala chapter of the Federation of Film Societies of India. Vidhu Vincent then directed the film Standup, raising another socially relevant issue - of gender equality. Her third film Viral Sebi, currently being exhibited in different film festivals, speaks about the issue of borders and nationalities.
